Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Daerah Tidak Bertuan Work Toha Mohtar and describe the values ​​contained in the novel struggles Daerah Tidak Bertuan Work Toha Mohtar using a psychological approach to literature. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method is described in detail about the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Daerah Tidak Bertuan Work Toha Mohtar and describe the values ​​contained in the novel struggles Daerah Tidak Bertuan Work Toha Mohtar. Sources of data in this study include sources of primary data in the form of novels Daerah Tidak Bertuan Work Toha Mohtar and secondary data sources in the form of articles in books and articles on the internet according to the problem being studied. Data collection techniques are literature data collection techniques, analysis of contents (Content Analysis), Textual observations. Form of data analysis is content analysis (content analysis), including reviewing or discussing the contents contained in the novel Daerah Tidak Bertuan Toha Mohtar work. The results showed that the source of the conflict experienced by some of the characters in this novel are (1) fear of death, (2) any distress caused confusion and anxiety in themselves because they have to solve the problem without having to raise new issues, (3) flavor guilty of self followed by a great fear, (4) and uncontrolled emotional outbursts of hatred against friends, (5) the desire to kill but was restrained by prohibition, (6) the emergence of the concept of guilt and ends with the emergence of moral consciousness at the end of the story. Value struggle contained in this novel are (1) the spirit and sacrifice of character guarding Truno Mantrihas Kampil gems to submit to the Defence Headquarters, (2) the courage to kill Captain Mantrihas Wellington alone, (3) the courage to bring the wife and kids to see Solimin Kaelani who are on the battlefield, (4) and persistent arek-arek Surabaya retain an inch of soil spilled blood of allied occupation forces.
